Project Gamma Silicone Intake System
For McLaren 540C / 570S / 570GT / 600LT
The Project Gamma Silicone Intake System is designed for McLaren’s twin-turbo V8 platform to improve airflow, sharpen throttle response, reduce inlet restriction, improve turbo spool, and dramatically increase induction sound while maintaining everyday drivability.
Built from our 4-layer reinforced silicone with an oil-resistant inner lining and precision aluminum connectors, the system is designed to withstand high temperatures, boost pressure, and repeated performance driving.
Why the Intake Boxes Have Additional Openings
The small supplemental openings in the Project Gamma intake-box tops are intentional and are not designed to replace the factory cold-air ducts.
At very low speeds—especially from a standstill—the factory side ducts have little ram-air effect. The additional openings reduce compressor-side inlet restriction during this short period, helping the turbos respond and build boost more quickly.
This is especially noticeable during:

Once vehicle speed increases, the McLaren’s large factory side ducts supply substantial cool outside airflow and become the primary air source. The supplemental openings represent only a small portion of total airflow, so the system continues to benefit from the factory cold-air ducting at cruising and higher speeds.
For this reason, describing the system simply as a “hot-air intake” does not accurately represent how the complete system functions.

The redesigned intake boxes and silicone tubes also make the McLaren’s turbo system significantly more audible. Turbo spool, compressor airflow, blow-off sounds, and induction noise become much more noticeable—up to approximately 10x louder than stock depending on vehicle setup and driving conditions.
Improved OEM Intake Design
The factory McLaren airboxes use paper filter elements and foam components that can deteriorate as these cars age. We have seen older intake materials break down, potentially causing additional restriction, contamination, degraded airflow, and reduced filtration performance.
The Project Gamma system redesigns this area to improve airflow while eliminating unnecessary restriction associated with aging OEM components.

Unlike rigid or restrictive intake layouts, the silicone construction helps maintain a smooth internal diameter through tight engine-bay bends.
Real-World Tested
This system was developed and tested directly on the vehicle. Performance characteristics such as turbo spool, boost response, intake-air temperature, throttle response, and airflow behavior can all be measured and logged.
Project Gamma continues to evaluate its products through real-world testing, performance logging, and dyno testing.

Installation
The system is direct-fit and DIY-friendly with no cutting, drilling, welding, or permanent modifications required.
All necessary installation hardware is included.
Installation time depends on experience and available tools. A professional installer may complete the job relatively quickly, while a home-garage installation may take longer.
The vehicle can be returned to the factory intake configuration if desired.

The Project Gamma Difference
This system is not designed simply to make more noise. It reduces unnecessary inlet restriction when the factory ducting has minimal ram-air effect, while continuing to use McLaren’s large factory cold-air ducts once the car is moving.
The result is quicker turbo response, improved airflow, substantially increased induction sound, strong high-speed cold-air supply, and a more engaging driving experience.
When will my order ship?
If it’s in stock and the order is placed before 3pm, it ships the same day. If you ordered a product with ceramic coating, it will ship the following business day.
If the product or color spec you’re looking for is not in stock, you can join the waitlist by clicking the “email when available†button underneath the “out of stock†label. We will email you as soon as your product is available and give you an estimated back in stock time.
What if I submitted a custom order?
If you are making a custom order, email us to submit your request and we will give you an estimated delivery time based on the special manufacturing time.
What if my product arrives damaged, incorrect, or is missing parts?
If you received the incorrect product or color, missing parts, or the item is defective, email us a picture with your order number and you will receive a refund or exchange. Contact us at info@shopprojectgamma.comand we will work with you to make it right.
What if I’m not satisfied with the product?
If the product is unused and uninstalled, we can offer you a refund, exchange, or store credit. If the product was used or installed on your vehicle, we unfortunately cannot offer any refund, exchanges, or credit.
What if I installed my products and then I decide I don’t like them?

A restocking fee of 20% of the original purchase price may be applied to returned products. This fee covers the costs associated with processing the return and restocking the item if applicable. Please refer to our policies page for more info regarding all exchanges and returns.
